Christopher H. Schubert

Christopher H. Schubert chairs the Telecommunications Practice Group at Riley Riper Hollin & Colagreco. A shareholder in the firm, Chris brings over 25 years of experience in real estate, land use and business law to his Exton-based practice.

Chris represents some of the nation’s premier telecommunications companies, wireless providers and cell tower companies in zoning and leasing issues. His clients also include developers, landowners and other commercial ventures in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland who seek his counsel in a wide range of zoning, subdivision, land development, leasing, real estate transfer and condemnation matters. An experienced litigator at the trial and appellate divisions of state and federal courts, he has prosecuted several federal Telecommunications Act claims that resulted in successful outcomes for his clients and established a favorable precedent for the industry.

Clients including AT&T Mobility, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, ExteNet Systems and American Tower turn to Chris for counsel in securing entitlements for network build-out and operations. His foresight in developing hearing procedures that streamline the presentation of zoning applications has resulted in expedited approvals for his clients, allowing them to deploy their networks on-time and on-budget. Chris’ telecommunications clients appreciate his commitment to understanding their complex business needs, his proactive response to the demands of their rapidly evolving industry, and his in-depth knowledge of the laws regulating that industry.

Chris and his Riley Riper team of experienced telecom attorneys have successfully zoned and assisted with the leasing of more than 1,000 project sites for spec tower build-outs, network build-outs and deployment of ever-evolving wireless platforms including LTE, LTE-Advanced and WiMAX; MW and fiber backhaul deployment; and most recently, zoning and franchise negotiations for small cell and DAS infrastructure which serves as the foundation for 5G networks. Chris has also been actively engaged at the state and local level in drafting and advocating for legislation to facilitate the deployment of advanced wireless services. He is a regular presenter on topics concerning legislative and regulatory matters affecting the wireless industry.

Chris graduated from Villanova University School of Law with a Juris Doctor. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, summa cum laude, from Temple University and was designated a President’s Scholar by the university. Chris is active in the Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Chester County Bar Associations. He presently serves as Treasurer of the Pennsylvania Wireless Association. Chris also serves as Secretary for the Board of Trustees of the Meadowbrook School, Meadowbrook, Pennsylvania.
